Cancellation & Refund Policy

What happens to your deposit if your plans change.

Last updated 2 October 2026

Your deposit

A deposit of €50 confirms your booking and holds your date and time. The rest is paid at the venue on the day.

Cancelling

  • More than 5 days before your party: we refund your €50 deposit in full.
  • Within 5 days of your party: your deposit is not refunded. By that point we have turned other bookings away for your slot.
  • If you do not arrive and have not told us: your deposit is not refunded.

Themed parties

A themed party is made to your brief, and we commission it as soon as you book. The 50% you pay towards it up front is therefore not refunded if you cancel. That is separate from your €50 booking deposit, which is refunded as set out above.

That payment is not lost, though. If you postpone rather than cancel, we carry the full 50% over to your new date, and you pay the remaining 50% then.

Postponing

You can move your party to another date up to 72 hours before it is due to start, subject to availability. Your deposit and any themed party payment move with it.

If the new date falls on a weekend or public holiday and your original did not, the surcharge for that day applies.

If we cancel

If we cancel or have to move your party, you can take an alternative date or a full refund of everything you have paid us, including any themed party payment.

Event tickets

  • Tickets for our own events are non-refundable.
  • If you cannot make it, you are welcome to send someone else in your place. Just let us know their name before the event.
  • If we cancel the event, we refund the full price of your tickets.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the card you paid with. We process them within five working days of agreeing the refund; how quickly the money appears after that is up to your bank, and is usually a further three to five working days.

Your statutory rights

You normally have 14 days to change your mind about something bought online. That right does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date, which is what a party booking or an event ticket is. That is an exception set out in EU consumer law and in the Maltese regulations that implement it.

The cancellation terms above are what apply instead. Nothing in this policy affects any other statutory right you have as a consumer.

Getting in touch

To cancel or postpone, email dborg@absolutecatering.com.mt or call +356 7713 0730 with your booking reference. Please do not cancel by social media message, as we may not see it in time.

If you are not happy

If you disagree with a decision about a cancellation or refund, please tell us at dborg@absolutecatering.com.mt or on +356 7713 0730 and we will look at it again. We aim to respond within five working days.

If a complaint is not resolved directly with us, you have the right to refer it to the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) through its online Dispute Resolution Platform at www.mccaa.org.mt.
